"Day Of" Wedding Coordinators Do Not Exists!

We know, We know… they do exist. And a day-of coordinator is what everyone says that you at least need to have for your wedding day to run smoothly. But the reality is that in order for a wedding day to run smoothly, a coordinator doesn’t just work for the day of the wedding. So in essence, they really shouldn’t be referred to as “Day-of”!

Think about it- would you want someone walking into your wedding on the day-of when they have no idea about anything that is supposed to happen?

Definitely not, right? Having a coordinator for the day of your wedding is of course something that we highly recommend, but you must realize that for a coordinator to successfully carry out your wedding day, they need to be able to work WELL before your wedding day.

Month-of coordination or Event Management certainly aren’t new concepts, because they are pretty much how the former “day-of” coordination service have been re-dubbed for some time. Even still, it takes more than a month to truly and successfully pull all the pieces of a wedding together in order for it to be everything you hoped for...especially when someone else has been doing (or is supposed to be doing) all of the planning!

Are you the right fit for Month-of Coordination?

In order for Month-of Coordination to be possible, many key factors have to be in place.

Can you:

  • Do all the planning

  • Manage all the details, timelines and logistics

  • Pull together your design concept

  • Find and book all of your vendors

  • Navigate pricing and confusing contracts

  • Manage your entire guest list and RSVP's

  • Handle all of the communications

Are you:

  • Knowledgeable about all of the fine, commonly forgotten, details in the planning process

  • Highly disciplined to stay on track with the necessary planning timeline

  • Extremely organized

Do you:

  • Have LOTS of free time

  • Have a LOT of patience

  • Have connections or relationships with top vendors

  • Possess strong negotiating skills

If you answered yes to ALL of the above...you are a fit for Month-of Coordination! Now you just need a coordinator to handle the final execution and finalize details such as venue layout, creating your timeline, making sure everyone knows where to be and then making it all flow on your wedding day - all of these are definitely things that you want done in the weeks before your wedding day, not on the day-of or even the WEEK before!

Now on the flip side, if you answered no to ANY of these....you are going to need more assistance over the long term planning process and should consider a planning package that is going to ensure everything is handled in a timely, efficient, organized & professional manner.

Things go SO much better when your coordinator knows  and has been directly involved  with all of the nuances of your wedding. Because how else will you be able to have the day that you’ve dreamed of if you don’t let someone know about your plans and expectations? :)
